Mill Creek Trail Clean Up
A huge thank you to everyone who joined the Carthage Civic League for June 12's community cleanup along the Mill Creek Greenway Trail on Este Ave!
Twenty volunteers from the Carthage community and Kroger came together to remove trash, illegally dumped items, and debris, helping make the trail more welcoming, cleaner, and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.
We’re especially grateful for the support and partnership of the Cincinnati Health Department Healthy Communities Program, Mill Creek Alliance, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and Cincinnati Parks for helping make this effort possible.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and invested in caring for and improving our neighborhood’s natural spaces. Community action like this makes a real difference!
Another cleanup is already in the planning phase for the Caldwell Park–Seymour section of the Mill Creek Trail! Gift cards will be available for participating volunteers from the Carthage community.

Does trash affect a community?
The appearance of trash in front of properties can affect how the whole community is perceived. It looks like an uncaring community. This, in turn, contributes to crime.
In fact, research shows that community cleanup and greening efforts improve neighborhood safety by reducing violent offenses such as assault and gun violence.
Let's all do our part to keep our spaces clean.
Your Carthage Beautification Team
-
